Technology Administrator

Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Technology Administrator is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of all the Funds Technology systems as described below. With the hosted Basys system, the Technology Administrator is responsible for either resolving issues or properly escalating them for resolution with Basys. The Technology Administrator is also responsible for coordinating with the Funds vendors and consultants for the proper maintenance and support of the Funds other computing equipment and applications, support and licenses. This includes physical and virtual Windows and Linux servers, Windows 10/11 workstations, switches, storage, phones, and firewall. Previous experience installing, configuring and supporting Windows Office suite products is required. The role requires keeping up with the implemented technologies and implementing new technologies as needed including technology vendors contractual renewal and pricing negotiations.

Essential Functions

Basys Application Responsibilities

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all installed Basys modules, paying particular attention to how the modules interact and work together
  • Gain proficiency with Basys concepts, such as CDO and Cross referencing
  • Coordinate end user training as provided internally, by Basys or third parties
  • Assist in the development of internal operating procedures related to the Basys software
  • Act as a resource for end users with respect to the operation of the Basys software
  • Generate all regular and ad hoc Basys reports for end users (Fund staff and consultants). Basys uses the Unidata Database. Need to be able to select and edit record
  • Escalate to Basys or others as required to achieve a resolution
  • Participate in all meetings, conference calls, etc. between Basys and end users
  • Coordinate input to Basys regarding suggestions for system improvements
  • Barracuda Email Protection - configure allow and reject lists. Look through log files and fix issues
  • Docstar - Document and Image Management. Create and modify workflows. Administer the users
  • Microsoft Office 365 - Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook. Be able to answer questions about how to use all of the Microsoft Office 365 applications. Knowledge of Excel macros is a plus
  • Printers – Be able to identify and address jams, toner cartridge replacement, etc.
  • Python - Scripting language. Maintain several in-house programs
  • RingCentral - Phone System Administration. Responsible for adding users, changing extensions, setting up voicemail, etc.
  • Sonicwall - Firewall. Maintain Objects and Lists on the Sonicwall
  • Splunk – Network Data Collection. Configure and maintain with both the servers and the forwarders. Monitor logs and address security issues
  • TeamViewer - Remote Connectivity. Install, configure and work with TeamViewer
  • Word Press - Website. Maintain Funds website, which is hosted on AWS and configured with WordPress.
  • UserLock – Multi Factor Access protection – Setup Users and address issues as they arise
  • FTP – File transfers to partners – responsible for making sure transfers are properly configured and are provided on the required schedules

Other Functions

  • Responsible to make sure Funds hardware and software licenses and support are kept up to date
  • Develop, generate and maintain all reporting requirements and catalogue as necessary to facilitate replication
  • Implement Automation for process and reporting
  • Liaison with Funds Computer Consultant off hours on a regular weekly schedule.
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Support regulatory and statutory requirements and reporting

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • An associate’s degree may be substituted for 2 years of the required experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 4 years of the required experience.
  • Excellent Documentation and Communication Skills
  • Demonstratable desire to learn new Technical Skills and implement and support the use of them in a business environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork
  • Proficiency with Scripting Languages including Python
  • Proficient in the use of and support of Microsoft O365 Applications
  • Experience maintaining both Linux and Windows Servers and the applications running on them
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in team environments
  • Demonstrated ability to be independent, requiring minimal direction in completing tasks
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter with great initiative and work ethics
  • Be willing to work overtime when necessary

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Experience with processing health care/pension claims desirable
  • Experience with the Basys system software desirable.
  • Experience working in Cloud Environments such as Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with Server Virtualization such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Vates XCP-NG and Xen-Orchestra.
  • Experience deploying and Maintaining MFA (Multi Factor Authentication).
