Plan Manager

Health Services & Benefit Administrators, Inc. (HS&BA) is a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for Taft-Hartley Trust Funds, offering administration services for various funds and benefit plans. Founded in 1989, HS&BA prioritizes quality service to Board members, Plan Professionals, and Plan Participants, focusing on long-term client relationships.

The Plan Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating client service tasks and ensuring that the unique needs of the clients are met. Your experience should include role as a Fund Manager, Plan Manager or Account Executive managing Pension, Health and Welfare, Annuity and other similar Trust Funds. Some of the many tasks performed as Plan Manager consist of servicing trustee requests as they arise, including attending trust meetings, presenting required reports, perform trend analysis and make recommendations as required, work with third party professionals (consultants, attorneys, auditors) in assimilating information to ensure that plan requirements are met, serve as project manager in overseeing the rollover of new and existing plan changes into the main system of record (Benefit Administration System). 

The Plan Manager oversees multiemployer benefit plans governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Taft-Hartley Act. Responsibilities include:

• Fund Administration: Managing pension, health, and welfare funds for unionized workers.
• Compliance & Regulations: Ensuring adherence to ERISA, Taft-Hartley, and other relevant laws.
• Financial Oversight: Monitoring investments, fund performance, and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Trustee Coordination: Working with labor and management trustees to maintain balanced governance.
• Reporting & Audits: Preparing financial reports and coordinating audits to ensure transparency.
• Stakeholder Communication: Engaging with unions, employers, and regulatory bodies.
