Payroll Audit Manager

Health Center, Inc. seeks a qualified professional to join their team.

The Payroll Audit Manager is a member of the Accounts Receivable team. The team's responsibility is to ensure employers are compliant with their obligations to the NY Hotel Trades Council and Hotel Association of New York City, Inc Employee Benefit Funds is consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreements, Collection Policies, Trust Documents, and Plan Rules. The Payroll Audit Manager will perform and review audits, bill, and collect all payroll audits completed by internal and external auditors to determine if the employer has accurately reported hours, wages and submitted payments to the Funds. The incumbent will work closely with employers, outside auditors, supervisors and managers, work independently and as part of a team. Effective and tactful communication will be necessary with all levels of management, participating employers, local union, executives, and other interested parties; while being able to effectively explain CBA and Plan rules, audit requirements and reporting issues.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or Equivalent Experience with multi-employer, Taft-Hartley, defined benefit plans
  • 3-5 years of compliance audit or related experience, preferably with Taft Hartley benefit plans
  • Strong understanding of compliance audits, internal control, payroll taxes, and payroll systems
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply ERISA, DOL, and IRS Regulations as related to employer contributions
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and other MIcrosoft Office Programs
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems independently
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities while paying special attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and confidentially
  • Strong accounting and mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and be flexible
  • Ability to do some traveling in the NYC Metropolitan Area

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $90,000-$105,000 annually
