Join Our Team as a Benefits Specialist!

​The Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is seeking a motivated, detail​ oriented, and service​ driven Benefits Specialist to support about 400 active employees and 200 retirees. You’ll be the go​ to expert for all things benefits​, from onboarding and counseling​, to open enrollment and retirement processing​, helping create a positive employee experience every step of the way.

​M​ain Responsibilities:

• Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSAs, and retirement benefits
  
• Support LOA, FMLA, workers’ comp, COBRA, and ACA compliance
  
• Counsel employees/retirees on benefits options and changes
  
• Maintain HRIS records, process invoices, and manage vendor relationships
  
• Lead benefits onboarding, offboarding, and annual open enrollment
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  
• 3+ years benefits experience (public sector/MD State Retirement a plus)
  
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  
• HR/benefits certifications and bilingual skills are a plus
