Navigating Health and Welfare Benefits Through Mergers and Acquisitions will provide practical knowledge and up-to-date information on legal and tax compliance issues for employee benefit plans during the merger and acquisition process. Plan administrators and human resources professionals need to be prepared to meet all ERISA and IRS requirements for their health and welfare plans as well as handle transitions of coverage.

Attendees of this training will be lead through:

  • Types of mergers and acquisition transactions and their impact on health and welfare benefits.
  • Due diligence issues
  • Purchase agreement considerations and post-closing transactions

Substantive issues and new developments that impact health and welfare plan, including the Affordable Care Act, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act compliance, transparency in coverage requirements under the CAA, cafeteria plans, COBRA, keeping tax-favored status, and more.
